PE: Giving and Receiving Quality Feedback
Giving and Receiving Feedback
One of the most useful things on deviantart is the option to give and receive feedback. There are different kinds of feedback. This article aims to inform you on how to give quality feedback and hopefully receive it.
Types of Feedback
One of the quickest ways to interact with others. From journals, to forums, to art, to profiles, comments are used everywhere. However, the quality can range from spam, to constructive.
Any deviant can write them,(~,*,=,`,^ etc.) but only premium members can request them. Constructive comments can substitute for these. Critiques take some time to write, and really provide insight. If used correctly, can be a wonderful way to give/receive constructive criticism.
This is important to receiving feedback. If you give, you are l

Know your photo rightsHey everyone! How are you all?
Whilst sipping a cup of tea and pondering what to write for my next journal, I remembered something that happened to me a few weeks ago. I was at a local nature reserve, photographing the beautiful bushland and exploring the landscape - when I noticed some people bush-walking a few meters away. Without thinking, I snapped away and thought they added a very interesting element to my photos, enjoying the peacefulness just like me.
A few minutes later, a man noticed what I was doing and came over to me in a gruff, and asked me why I was taking his photo! At first I was stunned into silence, but then I smiled warmly and told him that I thought the landscape looked so amazing, and capturing people enjoying it was just purely incidental. I felt like I was almost bracing myself for his angry response, but his face softened and he asked me if he could see the photos. Of course I flicked through my camera to show him, and quite obviously you couldn't see any of th

Want to be featured? *CLOSED!*Hello everybody!
Time for random feature! I'm going to feature : The first 100 people to make a comment and fav this journal. It's going to be one feature per spot and the art will be chosen by me from the spot winner's gallery.
Let the game begin!
Remember, you have to both fav and comment in order to be featured. I'm saying this because 2-3 people did only one or the other. Be sure to do both.
*Damn, I'm having trouble keeping up Sorry if I missed some of you guys but everything is fixed now. Oh and just to be clear : I won't feature art that is breaking deviantART rules or artists that are straight up art thieves
Due to size restrictions I had to split my feature in two journals :
Features 1 to 49 are here : http://sc1r0n.deviantart.com/journal/100-Features-1-1-49-279879992
Features 50 to 100 are here : http://sc1r0n.devian
Obscured Photos: Features .85ObscuredPhotos is a photography group dedicated to exposing obscured (unknown, underappreciated, etc.) photography. Beautiful work everyone.
Blue Eyes in FlamesWhen the prince sees the flower bloom from the palm of her hand, he orders her arrest.
She is only seven years old.
He takes the flower from her and keeps it, even though he knows he shouldn't. He puts it a vase, or, rather, his servant does that for him. The flower doesn't ever die, even years later.
It's dawn of a December morning, and he's cold. But still, he stands next to his father dutifully and looks at the little girl with blue eyes that are now black from seven nights sleeping on a cold, dungeon floor behind bars. They cut off her dark brown hair during that time. She's tied to the pyre, and there are seven guards around her, holding sharper swords than normal, not that she could get away. There's one man dressed in black holding an unlit torch, with a mask over his face to prevent his death. His father raises his arm, and the torch is lit.
She locks her gaze to his, and he blinks at her. It's like she expects him to prevent it. He couldn't, though, he can't. She scares him, w
