Thank you for participating!

:bulletblue: Tell us a bit about yourself!

    Hello
I'm Cristina and i live in Romania. I'm a dedicated senior member of dA's community since December 2006. In real life i'm a 4th year med student, planning to move to Australia in a couple of years :la:

:bulletblue: How did you find deviantART?

I liked gazing at awesome artworks since i was a child and back in 2005 i discovered this site while i was searching for some fan art. I was so amazed by what i could find here that i visited it every day since that day, but only one year and a half later i decided to join the community.

 :bulletblue: What inspired your username?

It's actually a lot to say about this and most of it it's personal, but i'll tell you what parts of it mean for me - this should help you figure out both what it stands for and what inspired it.
I chose "lintu" because i love freedom and just like a bird, when i'm caged i lose my motivation and get sad for not being able to express myself and do the things i like - it's like taking away a bird's freedom to fly. Also, i liked how "bird" sounded in Finnish (i was watching The Dudesons back then - my favourite was Jukka).
"4" is for death - in Japanese the pronunciation of 4 sounds a lot like death, at least from what i know - and because of this the number 4 is considered to be unlucky, like 13 is for others.
Finally, "7" was always one of my favourite numbers, i can't exactly say that it is my lucky number, but it's definitely one of my favourites.

:bulletblue: How does deviantART stand out for you?

Well it stands out in many ways. It is the only community i found so far that it's so supporting in all the ways you can think of. I don't lie and/or exaggerate when i tell you that the friends i made here, and even strangers kept my spirits up when i was down (real life sucks sometimes).
Also, what i love about this site is that when you give, you always receive something in return - appreciation. Sometimes the most important thing you receive is a smile and the thought you made someone's day better.

:bulletblue:What do you aim to do in the deviantart community?

My goal is to to spread the dA love through my features, interviews, polls, comments, group activities and involvement in community projects. I wish to inspire others to support fellow artists without expecting anything in return.

:bulletblue: What inspires your work?

I don't consider myself an artist, therefore i won't talk about that kind of inspiration. But for what i do, what truly inspires me is nothing more than the memory of the feeling i had when someone first did the same thing for me and others' community work as well, it's lovely to see others spreading the love around. All in all, what keeps me going is the thought that what i do matters to someone .

:bulletblue:What is your main genre(s)?

I'm not really sure. When i joined i first worked with photography; luckily i was able to get rid of those works because they were just awful! Then i uploaded 2 fan fictions that i was asked to write and afterwrds i started writing a novel and another fan fiction i never finished. I also wrote poetry. The problem with me is that i'm a perfectionist, when i read what i wrote i always think of better ways i could've expressed myself and i go back to make the adjustments; this is why i'm not able to advance with my novel and latest fan fiction and why i gave up extensive writing. After my "writer wanna-be" period was over, i came back to photography, with better results this time.
Surprises #2
- Hey, are you ok? Wake up!
- Don't move her, Olli, are you insane?
- Look who's talking, he said, looking up at Richard. Besides, I didn't move her!
Richard got on his knees next to Oliver.
- Slapping her is the same thing. She might have her neck broken.
- Well if this would be true then she wouldn't probably be breathing now.
- You two, get out of my way.
Flake appeared from their back and he seemed really pissed off and frightened. Richard and Oliver got up and let Flake come closer to me.
- You're an ass, Richard! I told you not to race against Schneider. Just look what you've done.
- It's his fault, not mine. It was his idea.
- You're guilty as well. One of you better call him and tell him to turn back.
- Well guys, we'd better call an ambulance first, don't you think? Oliver said, inspecting my strange positioned body with a short look.
- Call him now darn it! We'll see what to do when they come. Hey you, wake up for fucks sake! Wake up, he shouted again, this time in my ear.

:bulletblue:What is unique about the medium(s)s?

It depends on the artist and on their ability to use the best parts of that medium. Both literature and photography give you a lot of freedom to express yourself, so it's up to you to make it unique.

:bulletblue:What kinds of things are reflected in your style?

First of all, i've not reached that point in my "artistic life" when i can say i developed my own style. However, i have inclinations towards tragedy/drama in literature, my only regret is that most of you can only judge this based on what i wrote/translated in English, which i now consider to be immature.
As for photography, it's not a secret anymore that i like working with cats, although they can be a royal pain in the ass when it comes to photographing them.
In both these mediums i like to combine aesthetics with message, regardless of what it may be (whether it makes you think, or it just makes you "Aww", i'm happy when i get a reaction from the viewer because it means the message/parts of it got to them).
As a fun fact, when i bought my camera i was firmly going to shoot macro, that until i realized i don't have enough money left to buy a macro lens as well - this is how i got stuck with cats (the fact i love them it not related to this at all, naaaah) : )

:bulletblue: Any difficulties regarding your art?

Of course! With Literature it's the perfectionism i can't get rid of, and with Photography it's the lack of equipment and the "model's" temper.

:bulletblue:What is your future as an artist?

As a pro artist, none; as an amateur, well, i'll keep photographing (and perhaps write again) as a hobby.

:bulletblue:What words of advice do you have for others?

If you aren't happy with your art, continue to learn and practice. Do this even if believe you're good enough - never be completely contempt with yourself because when you do, you'll start devolving and all your progress will be lost, others will come from behind and will happily take your place. Have high expectations and standards so you will always be urged to do better.

Surprises #4
I woke up pretty early that morning. It was still dark outside. In fact, I'm not even sure I slept more than four hours. Still, I was feeling great; my back pain was gone, my knees hurt just as usual (I have knee pain once in a while) aaaand my memory was as good as new (although I have small memory problems too). But I was feeling normal. That was good.
I sat on the couch, not daring to open the tv. I let Oliver sleep for as long as he needed. I looked on the window, trying to figure out what hotel I was in; I found out that I was in Marriott. Pretty good. I went to the bathroom, arranged my hair in a more normal way than it was when I woke up and then I walked back to the couch. I was getting bored and I was close to fall asleep when suddenly, the rooms door opens and Paul comes in, jumping on top of Oliver.
- Wake up, wake up, WAKE UP!!
-What?... said Oliver, obviously upset. What happened?
- Nothing, he smiled. Let's go and wake up the others.
He looked like a small child in a cand
