Hello!

I am here on behalf of :iconprojectcomment:'s comment tag. :) My tag was fear.

I really like the idea behind this and the title. I myself am a manipulator (I work with GIMP) and I have some small suggestions for you. Keep in mind, these are all my opinions and you are welcome to disregard or disagree with them as you see fit.

I really like the colours here. You chose some very nice stock, especially the eye. Personally, I would recommend using fire brushes instead of just fire stock. I find that fire brushes offer more opportunities to blend and manipulate the fire as needed. The orange underneath the bottom lash line is heavier towards the pupil and the vanishes towards the back of the eye. I would recommend adding more orange along the entire bottom lash line to even it out a little. The areas without the orange give her a sort of bruised, black-eye effect. I'm not sure if that is what you are going for, but if you use the colour eye dropper tool on her normal skin colour, add a new layer and draw over it with that colour and then play around with the opacity/layer style, you can get rid of some of that.

Inside the eye, the pupil looks very intense and the white around the eye looks cool too. On the eyelid and above, the flames look interesting. They distort some of the lashes on top, which I'm not crazy about, but it looks pretty good. Part of the top of the eye is just a sort of orange and red blur and then it becomes more defined flames as it moves down. To me, this affects the realism. Also, something to keep in mind when you are manipulating an eye is that the eyelid and the skin above the eyelid are different and shouldn't just run together.

Another thing to consider is using a texture. Textures help blend the stock together and if you set them at a low opacity, aren't always completely visible.

I do really like this manipulation and I hope my advice helps!
