Atmosphere

Drifted down on a dry, withered leaf that acted as a sail.
Landed on the sharp, sparkling water, foaming with wild freedom.
The ocean of the lost ; inviting, warm, playful. Powerful waves relaxed into soothing washes of watercolor dreams.

Painted was a picture that reflected life as it was known.
Brushstrokes of hope splattered across the damaged page
of paper creased too many times over.

Angry blue and relieving red blended together as cotton clouds roll across the sky,
the sea awakening again.
The shaking water risen, shaking off the remains of a dark nightmare.
It collapsed, letting only a sigh as Water gives up all hope.

Burned out of the sky, the sun regretfully travels and rests low, atop a lonely cloud that is particularly unwelcoming.
Collided are the sun and sky, wondering if they’ll ever be apart. .
Bright orange and purple slash across both in angry protest.
