Sunglasses IILet me wear these sunglasses becauseSunglasses II by Astrikos
your truth hurts so bright sometimes
and it burns through my retinas
and it burns through my soul.
FiltersThis world is a retreated,Filters by Astrikos
wicked playground if you
look at it
through a fractured glass
and steel, skyscraper frames.
Those sharp pieces
of glass you hold so
closely to your long
glazed over eyes,
they'll blind you
in the heart too.
if you let
be known as kind,
be able to sleep
more soundly in the night,
—the one you accused—
kept you safe and hidden.
And maybe soon
it will be time,
that you melt all the filters,
the sharp pieces of glass,
the glowing haze,
those lenses you think help you see.
So one day,
the smudges and dirt scattered
radiant over the landscape,
will fade away swiftly;
the raw surface of
your soul mirrors,
will sting with the air,
the life so beautiful.
Natural SelectionLet light cascade down the mountain,Natural Selection by Astrikos
and let the darkness rest, sleepily in the cave.
Let the oceans splash frigid drops onto the sun basking rocks,
and let the sky rustle up gentle breezes and silent gales.
Sit down and watch the thunderstorm
without wishing it to stop,
and love the storm for the rain that it brings.
Watch it wonder, leave, or let go;
but do not tell the storm to stop,
unless you'd be happier with a drought.
And do not tell the darkness to go away,
unless you'd feel safer in the sun.
And do not tell the oceans warm up,
unless you wouldn't mind the whole world drowning.
Do not tell the wind to be silent,
unless you want the hurricane at your door.
ShipwreckPerhaps eventually you'll see the wayShipwreck by Astrikos
the wind blows steadily,
shaking the silver fog
away from everyone's silent eyes,
filled with sharp stars.
And one day, there will be miles
to cross before you keep
whatever there was you cared about
before your eternal sleep.
In the thrashing metallic water
that whips creamy waves and
throws fresh foam over and over again,
you can feel the power of the restless ocean deep.
No raft can save you, splinters and raw drift,
from the heavy waves that can
drag you into a forever sleep.
If you must float carefully on the surface,
and throw away your thoughts of your own significance,
and lie calmly until the ocean carries you to shore;
in your mind, there will be raging waves and cold sprays of shattered hopes,
but the ocean will set you free,
not so gently upon the sand.
It's up to you, the ocean roars,
how you treat this land.
Flower Sunshine, you make me mineFlower Sunshine, you make me mine by tanasha67
Flower Sunshine, you make me mine
A flower shining as I'm fine
Seeing past days of cold
I start feeling less of old
Flower Sunshine, you make me fine
To chrochet as I climb
Stitch by stitch an Angel forms
To light the dark of my Storms
Flower Sunshine, as I climb
Up the Hill, as a sign
Remembering days of the old
Reading ways as I'm told
Flower Sunshine, you are a sign
That someday else I'll dine
With the teachers I respect
And teachings I'll have to peck
Flower Sunshine, as I dine
I might think of the biggest pine
Which might stand by, in the night
Waiting for a shot so bright
Paper, pens, and a lens.
